If you are an addict or have a loved one that is, Click Here

I must share that I was helped tremendously by a 12 step group. I followed the program to the letter for over two years; as I grew closer to the Lord outside of the program. I would recommend a 12 step program very strongly. God does work through a 12 step program if you allow him to. It is not for all people and if it becomes a trigger then get out. Tattoo this scripture on your arm “Abstain from all appearance of evil” 1 Thessalonians 5:22. This means if it looks shady, then don’t find out, just stay away.

I know from many experiences and failures that it all starts with a thought. One thought that if left alone will end up in the action of sin. Every time no matter what this is how the devil works. I cannot afford to ever slip back again; I will not make it back and will not take the risk. One is too many and a thousand is never enough for a recovering addict. I have experienced and watched many think that a little is OK, one pill/drink/smoke/injection, will not hurt. Once the brain receives that familiar rush of endorphins, then it is all over with. Let me tell you something; when an addict in recovery goes back to using, it is not back to the beginning but right where it left off. If you are reading this then God has brought you here. If you or a loved one is in trouble, there is hope. Surrender to the Lord and He will help. There are many tools available for someone who is too through. If you’re not ready then it won’t happen. If you are ready than don’t wait, your life depends on it.

If you truly believe in what you are saying and accept Christ with your heart, then He has promised He will save you from eternal separation from Him.
You can pray this if you are an addict, alcoholic or not. It provides peace with God, freedom, and assurance of spending eternity in heaven.

Pray this to God: “Dear Jesus I want to ask that you will forgive me of all of the sins. I know I am a sinner, and I know I can’t help myself. Please Jesus come into my heart, and wash my sins away with your blood. I thank you for saving me today Jesus and ask that you will help remove this addiction from my life. Jesus I have tried, I cannot do it. I reach out to you Jesus and surrender myself completely to you. You have promised if I do this with my heart, that you will set me free from addiction. I am depending on you now Jesus and I thank you for dying for me so that I can come to you right now and be saved and delivered. In the name of Jesus, Amen”
This is about two main things: 1) Pray it, ask Him 2) Believe Him and trust Him

Some further notes:
If you have done this believing that He can help you, then you can rest assure that He will. You may not know, it is not always and easy step. God does not expect anything from us other than truly surrendering to Him and allowing Him to do the work. When we accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross; then He makes us a child of His own. Jesus died in our place so that we do not have to. He shed His blood in our place. He died, was buried and rose from the grave literally. After many saw Him, He ascended to Heaven and is there waiting for us. He knows our pain and wants us to talk to Him about it. The bible tells us that When Jesus set you free then you’re are truly free.
Share this with someone, try to get to a church and talk to a pastor or any Christian that can help guide you to the right place. Find a Christian church and even call to share with them what life changing step you have taken. Do not be ashamed! Follow up immediately! Check links below bible verses.

Here are a few scriptures, if you have a bible you can look them up:
Acts 2:21–“Everyone that calls on the name of the LORD will be saved”

John 10:10- “I have come that they may have life and they may have it more abundantly”

John 1:12 – “Yet to all those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God”

John 8:36 – “So if the Son sets you free you are free indeed”

Psalm 107 is the first thing I read when I got clean. It encouraged me and still does today. Read this when you can.
